Muar - Food trip

Exactly!
after all, Malaysia is famous for its authentic food. So, Peitz, Max and me decided to head to Muar for a small makan-makan (eating) session yesterday. Managed to do a lil catching up as well and it went great!

We started our journey from Melaka around 9 in the morning to Muar, which is also known as Bandar Maharani or Empress Town. It has a striking resemblance to the town of Melaka, i would say from its architecture of buildings especially.

Muar Town

We had to drive across the bridge over the famous Muar River before reaching Muar town. It took us about 45 mins to reach Muar from Melaka.

ahh... anyway, what exciting food did we eat?!

1. Muar Satey - main reason why Max gave the awesome idea to head to muar.
2. Char Siew Fan - located about 2 km after the bridge - in town itself
3. Tim sam - at a posh but inexpensive restaurant located just above the char siew fan shop
4. Otak otak made from fish *blup*

before i forget,
try and look out for the Bird Nest drink stall - near Lagenda supermarket entrance. Its not something you should miss out on!

lastly, some pics to top it all up

the most BEAUTIFUL tart ever :) *totally yumm!*

view from the tim sum restaurant *just a clue so you can find the place*

bun with egg york in it

i kinda dislike that bun just above though peitz and max loves em'
egg york kinda creeps me out

Anyway, the ultimate satey !

the tale of excitement

Yummy pork satey! *shh.. we were too excited eating we forgot to take pics of em' to show you guys out there*

GOT TO TRY!!

P.s. We also got a chance to go to the ancient cinema in Lagenda supermarket to watch Rapunzel - i rate it a 8/10. Go there if you would like to experince malaysian cinema about 20 years ago or more, though the internal cinema itself was up-to-date :)

P.s number 2. I can never imagine myself living in Muar - totally laid back life aka lifeless - except for the food :)
